Eight Stunning Hotels Opening in 2021

Here’s to *hopefully* traveling more in the new year.

In terms of traveling, 2020 was kind of a wash; but, with a vaccine out, I like to think there’s some hope on the horizon for traveling in 2021. To make it better, there are some amazing hotels opening in the new year. From New York to Versailles, these are the hotels you’re gonna want to know about (before everyone else finds out through Instagram).

 

Aman New York - New York City, NY

In Spring 2021, The Crown Building, formerly home to the Museum of Modern Art, will have a new resident: Aman New York. After an intense renovation, the landmark boasts historic New York architecture and features amenities including a three-story spa and a jazz bar overlooking Central Park.

Bishop’s Lodge - Santa Fe, New Mexico

Settled more than 150 years ago, Bishop’s Lodge was a southwest landmark known for its beauty… until it closed in 2015. Six years later, Bishop’s Lodge is reopening in Spring 2021 after a major renovation and under new management, Auberge Resorts. 

Montage Big Sky - Big Sky, Montana

Nestled within the Spanish peaks, Montage Big Sky is bringing luxury to Montana. Located less than an hour’s drive from the Yellowstone gates, this retreat offers ski-in, ski-out access to 5,800 skiable acres. With the classic ski-lodge feel and panoramic alpine vistas, this is the perfect spot to enjoy some aprés-ski.

Rosewood São Paulo - São Paulo, Brazil

Rosewood has officially made its mark on South America with Rosewood São Paulo, opening in 2021. The landmark building, which was originally a maternity hospital, will feature 180 guestrooms and suites, which will be situated within a vertical park created by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel.

Nomad London - London, England

The Nomad will be opening their first international property in February 2021 in London’s Covent Garden. Formerly Bow Street Magistrates Court and Police Station, the building has no shortage of history: suffragette pioneers including the Pankhursts and playwright Oscar Wilde are just some of the people who’ve faced the law here. Since then, jail cells have transformed into beautiful suites and guests can enjoy amenities like the “Common Decency” bar.

Villa Igiea - Palermo, Italy

Villa Igiea has attracted royalty and Hollywood stars, including Grace Kelly, for over a century. After a restoration from Rocco Forte hotels, the Villa Igiea has returned to its original glamor and will be reopening in Spring 2021. In addition to the sweeping views of the Tyrrhenian Sea, guests can enjoy a frescoed bar and grand mirrored salon.

Airelles Château de Versailles is the hotel opening of 2021. After a four year restoration, Airelles Château de Versailles will be opening to guests in Spring 2021. Located on the grounds of the famous Château de Versailles, this is a hotel unlike any other. Aside from the beautifully restored 18th century rooms, guests will also enjoy special access to the palace and grounds.

Get ready to start hearing the term “creative village.” In Spring of 2021, Desa Potato Head debuts its creative village, designed to immerse guests in art, good food, wellness, and luxury. With a farm-to-table restaurant, art gallery, recording studio, and amphitheater, this is a hotel unlike any other.
