Feeling Grateful for Your Body and Your Beauty

While this Thanksgiving season is like none other, it is still important to give thanks.

Regardless of if you are with your family/friends in-person, on Zoom, or in spirit, practice gratefulness by giving thanks for them and what they add to your life. However, at the end of the day, circle back on why you’re grateful for yourself. Appreciate your body, learn to love yourself and be thankful for who you are.

There are many ways to feel grateful for yourself. Accept compliments from others and believe them when they are given to you. It is easy to say, “oh no, no,” however, feeling confident in yourself is allowed. You are allowed to thank someone for speaking kind words to you. You’re allowed to believe compliments, and you are allowed to practice self-love.

While you feel grateful for your body and your beauty, it is also important to compliment others. Notice the little things, like a new haircut or a new color eyeshadow. Ask someone to do your makeup or your hair – they will appreciate you asking, and you will likely look and feel beautiful after.

In addition to feeling grateful for yourself, treat your skin with care. Take your makeup off before bed, don’t sleep in your contacts, and give yourself a mini facial. You deserve to take a few days to pamper yourself, and the Thanksgiving holiday is the perfect time. Treat yo’ self ladies.

Worry less about how you look to others. It is almost guaranteed that no one thinks about you as much as you think about yourself. That isn’t a bad thing; it’s only bad when you get in your head about how people think about you. Feel grateful for the people that love you and recognize that they see your beauty and the good in you.

This time is the perfect time to feel great about yourself. Do kind things, give back in some way, be a good friend, and love yourself. At the end of the day, you are stuck with yourself for life - might as well practice some self-love. Be grateful for your mind, body and soul.
