The Best Makeup Looks to Last Past Mealtime

Let’s be honest, fall makeup is the best. Warm nudes, rich brown shades, chunky glitter, and berry colored lips … *chef’s kiss*.

I love these looks, but I also want them to last through my fall activities, whether it be apple picking, hiking, or just going to get my favorite fall drink from Starbucks. This issue does become more pressing as we get closer and closer to the start of the Holiday season. Whatever events you’ll be attending this year, no matter at school, work or family gatherings, you’ll still want to look put together from beginning to end.

Cut to Thanksgiving: Your plate is piled high with all of your festive faves from turkey to pumpkin pie. You sit down excited to tuck into your stuffing when you remember you’re wearing bright red lipstick, which will not look too good after mixing with gravy. But, not to fear, here are some equally foolproof and beautiful makeup trends to try out this Thanksgiving that will stay on (even past seconds).

Berry Lip

My favorite- the berry lip. Choose from a warm red color, a cranberry color or a wine-red color, as all of these shades create the perfect fall look. Now, the problem comes down to keeping this lip color on and not all in your mashed potatoes, so turn to a liquid lipstick!

Using a matte liquid lipstick or lip stain formula is perfect for staying on and maintaining color while eating.

Glitter Eyeshadow

The perfect holiday accessory is a glitter eye. A silver snow color, bright bronze shade, or emerald green hue all will create a gorgeous holiday look.

Before applying any of the glitter, I like to start with a clean base of eye primer or concealer with a shimmer shade on top so the glitter pops. If you need extra staying power, use a glitter or clear eyelash glue, then add whatever glitter you want to your look!

Monochrome

Rich brown, rusty red and warm orange tones are the epitome of holidays like Thanksgiving. They can be found within the decorations, the food, but also in makeup. A smoky eye, flushed cheeks and tinted lips create the perfect look that is simple, chic and easy to touch up. Find a great warm eyeshadow palette here.

For this look, pick one color to use in all aspects of your makeup. For example, a mauve shade can be worn on the eyes, cheeks and lips.

Graphic Eyeliner

A classic cat eye will always be on style, but why not jazz it up with a double wing or liner cut crease? A graphic liner look with or without eyeshadow would look great with any outfit.

For eyeliner looks, I like to use a black eyeshadow first to create the base of the color and then go over with liquid or gel liner to keep it in place!

Fluffy Brows

Natural brows are another staple beauty trend that seems to stay relevant for good reason, and the fluffier the brow the better. A bit more volume and a darker brow are essential to the fall makeup routine. Already have dark brows? Try a clear gel for that extra volume.

I love using brow gel to add a bit of color, shape and to keep my brows in place all day.

Rosy Cheeks

Dust it on the cheeks, the nose and even the forehead; blush is the perfect addition to add some life and color into a look! Darker tones of mauve and orange are so pretty, and of course a nude pink blush shade is great as well.

Go in with a cream blush first and finish with a powder, as layering these two will help the products stay on and will keep the makeup looking fresh.

All of these looks are perfect for any upcoming holiday gatherings, like Thanksgiving, that will still look amazing even after any eating, cooking, dancing or other fun activities!
