The Best Beaches Around the World

As a girl who spends long summer days on the beach every single summer, it’s safe to say I can call myself a beach native. I have spent my entire youth researching captivating beaches around the world, wishing to visit each one and adding some to my bucket list.  A few of the spectacular beaches I found are listed below.

Pink Sands Beach

One popular beach is the Pink Sands Beach in the Bahamas. There are definitely a few pink sand beaches, however this one is my favorite. This beautiful peony-pink beach stretches for 3 miles. The pink hues are from the crushed shells in the sand. While I’m sure this beach is on so many people’s bucket lists, the popularity of it doesn’t take away from the true beauty this beach holds. The clear blue water paired with the silky pink sand and a nice warm breeze sounds like paradise to me. This beach is located in Isla Harbour in the Bahamas.

Seven Mile Beach

Another one of my favorite beaches is the Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman. I have visited this beach before and let me tell you—it is just as unbelievable in person as it is in the photos. It is a crescent shaped beach running seven miles long. The sand is nearly white and like velvet to touch. The weather was perfect when I visited in April, three years ago. The water is also crystal clear.  The beach is so long that no one has to sit too close to one another and offers activities for everyone.

Punalu’u Black Sand Beach

The Punalu’u Black Sand Beach in Hawaii is another magnificent beach. The sand is black because of the volcanic activity on the island. Punalu’u is located on the Island of Hawaii, between the towns of Pahala and Naalehu! Many say that swimming there is not ideal because of the strong currents, but it is possible if you are a strong swimmer. If you’re planning to visit Punalu’u, it’s important to bring a pair of flip flops and a towel since the dark hues of the sand make it hot to walk on while the sun is shining.

Santa Monica

Santa Monica, California is also home to gorgeous coastal life. While the beaches are usually busy and loud, the atmosphere is a lot of fun there! The Pacific Park amusement park is right on the water, near the piers. This gives beach goers an opportunity to make their relaxing beach day more lively! The weather is usually hot and sunny here, and I’ve heard wonderful things about the Santa Monica beaches from friends who have visited there.

Ditch Plains Beach

Lastly, I want to highlight my favorite beach-- Ditch Plains Beach in Montauk, New York. As a Long Island girl, taking a drive out to Montauk for the summer is such a treat. As Ditch Plains beach is home to swimmers and some of the best surfers (Quincy Davis- hi), it is always fun to sit and watch. Ditch Plains Beach is a few miles east of the Montauk Village. Since Ditch Plains Beach is an East Hampton Town beach, anyone who parks at the beach requires an East Hampton Town beach sticker. On the plus side, if you arrive by bike or foot, it is free!

Why not plan a trip?
