The Top Five Destinations to Take Your Next Girls Trip

It’s been a while since we’ve all been on a nice, relaxing vacation. While we’d all kill to be on any sort of vacation, I’m particularly itching to take a trip away with the girls. A few days to just unplug and run away from all of life’s responsibilities sounds like an amazing escape right now. Whether you wish to be laying on a beach relaxing or running around an exciting city, these locations are scattered around the States, and are sure to give you the girls weekend of your dreams.

Charleston, South Carolina

Charleston ranks number one on my list for the ideal girls trip. I was last running around Charleston on Valentine’s Day weekend with my boyfriend. I immediately texted my friends and stated my plans to return with them. My boyfriend’s sister lives there, and any time she posts ANYTHING, the jealousy runs through my blood. King’s Street is a long road in Downtown Charleston lined with all of my favorite shops. The Skinny Dip is a must-visit boutique. Downstairs is the actual store, but upstairs there’s a hidden coffee shop/bar that gives you amazing views of King’s Street. It’s definitely a staple to check out Rainbow Row, a waterside string of beautifully colored houses. I would also recommend staying at the Boho Rosa, a gorgeous home in Charleston.

Montauk, New York

Montauk is another perfect girls getaway destination. Since I’m from Long Island, escaping to Montauk during summer weekends is a must, and something that makes my soul truly happy. Gurney's Star Island is a gorgeous resort along the water in Montauk. Gurney’s Star Island is located a short drive out of the downtown hype, but still the perfect distance to have relaxing nights with your best friends. Definitely try to get dinner and drinks at the The Surf Lodge (a boutique hotel) that many noteworthy people (like Leonardo, Danielle Bernstein, myself 😉 and more) know and love. And who knows… maybe if you happen to be sitting along the beach at Ditch Plains, you might spot Quincy Davis – a total girl boss & pro surfer -- in the water. Make sure to stop by her namesake shop, Quincy, for cute and comfy beachwear.

Austin, Texas

While I’ve never been to Texas, it’s at the top of my list of destinations to travel to once it’s safe. The stories I have heard from friends who have traveled here are legendary, and the city is so vibrant. While Austin is known to have amazing food (*cough cough* pizza at Bufalina), the nightlife is thrilling, and vibes are funky. The people are known to be warm and welcoming and there are a wide variety of social scenes for you and the girls to hop over to. My wish is to stay at the Hotel San José , a bungalow-style hotel filled with garden courtyards, a relaxing lounge bar, and a spa-like pool in the center of the property. Definitely will get here as soon as I can!

Sonoma, California

If you’re looking for a wine-filled, relaxing girls weekend spot, Sonoma is the place for you. Sonoma is located in California’s countryside, with over 400 wineries for all of your “vino”-vacation endeavors. I’ve heard amazing things about the Ledson Hotel , where each room comes with a king-sized bed, a fireplace, a balcony, and whirlpool bathtubs. I know...exciting, right? While in Sonoma, make sure to check out the art galleries and gorgeous restaurants.

Key West, Florida

haven’t been to Key West since I was around 4 years old, so I don’t remember much, but I’ll go off what my family and friends tell me: since Key West is Florida’s most southmost point, the beaches are bound to be gorgeous. Take a boat out on the clear waters, or walk through the town center. Staying at the luxurious Sunset Key Cottages is perfect for your adventure with the girls, since it will smoothly bring you into the tranquil lifestyle of Key West. You MUST go to dinner at Margaritaville and fill up on margaritas, of course.
