How to Wear Your Hair Depending on Your Mood

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been wearing your hair natural, air-dried, and in a ponytail or bun for the last four months. And, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! Before going into lockdown, I was using heat on my hair every single day to either blow-dry it or flat iron it, and the damage was visible. But, I took a break from heat while in quarantine, and then got all of my dead ends chopped off as soon as my salon reopened. Hopefully, your hair is at its healthiest right now like mine is, and the possibilities of how to style it are endless! Here are a few hairstyle ideas to inspire you as you get social again, based on your mood.

Mood: Was secretly glad plans have been cancelled for the last few months

For the people that have been perfectly content staying home during lockdown, and not in any rush to get back to being super social, a bun is the best hairstyle. If you don’t really want to leave your house in the first place, you probably don’t want to spend hours washing, drying, and styling your hair. Part it down the middle, and pull your hair into a sleek low bun. Use a bit of hairspray to secure any flyaways, and you have a chic, low-effort look. Another plus to this style, more than the minimal effort required, is that it looks just as good on dirty hair.

Mood: Has been prepping for her first night out for days

If you’re super eager to get back out on the town with your friends, and have spent days picking out the perfect outfit, wear your hair in glam curls. Use a 1 ½ to 2 inch barrel curling wand to curl your hair away from your face, and leave the ends straight for an effortless, chic, curled look that still looks perfectly polished.

Mood: Busy on Zoom calls all day, but excited to relax with friends

If you have been super busy with work and on Zoom calls all day, but can’t wait for 5:00 to hit so you can enjoy happy hour with your friends, and simple blow-dry is the best style for you. Use a blow dryer and round brush, or a blow dryer-brush combo to dry your hair smooth with a bit of body. Classic, simple, and looks good every time.
