Why a Beach Day With Friends Is More Than Just Good For The Soul

Most people I know, myself included, absolutely love a warm, sunny day at the beach, especially one not too hot or not too cold. While a day like this is pure for your soul, the benefits for your body are outstanding.

Sea Water

Let’s talk salt water. Salt water is so soothing for your skin since it is rich in minerals like zinc, iron, potassium and magnesium. These minerals not only heal and protect your skin, but they also work as an anti-inflammatory! In addition, they reduce acne-causing bacteria that lay on the surface of your skin. In your hair, these minerals can exfoliate your scalp, ensuring the easy flow of nutrients into the roots of your hair. This will boost your hair’s health tremendously and after time your hair will appear more moisturized and textured.

Sea water also provides great benefits for your overall health. Mentally, sea water has calming properties that could ease anxiety and insomnia. It also contains magnesium, the mineral that will calm you down. The relaxing atmosphere of the beach can definitely help too! Generally, taking a dip in the sea increases your red and white blood cell count.

UV Rays

Aside from the water, the sun’s UV rays can help your body produce vitamin D- which will generally help your immune system, bones, and blood cells. It’s important to remember that while it’s fun sitting in the sun and gaining some color, you should always wear sunscreen (bye wrinkles!) and limit full exposure to the sun.

Sand

Lastly, sand is a natural exfoliator. The dead skin can peel off your feet (and other parts of your body) throughout the day. This leaves your skin feeling softer and smoother to the touch!

While all of these amazing aspects of a beach day are exciting, make sure you enjoy it with a friend (from a safe 6 foot distance)! Make sure you also stay apart from any other people in passing and in the water!

Enjoy the beach day that awaits.
